CAVEMUSIC - SOMATIC DJING FOR HORIZONTAL PEOPLE

Cavemusic is a tool and live practice developed to explore non-sexual collective intimacy and imagination together in a room full of strangers. Each participant has their own bed, pillow and blanket to immerse themselves fully into the experimental ritual.

Seeking a durational live sonic and somatic dialogue with the participants, looping them slowly into the liminal space between wakefulness and dream, Bershan channels her alter ego BABA ELECTRONICA as an engineer and caretaker, in a long lineage of witches & (m)others who handle the emotions, machines, bodies, economies and ecologies entrusted to their being with care.

What started as a background sound gradually gets louder and fills our ears, head, whole body. You may find that what you were trying not to notice is all you can hear. We rehearse listening, releasing, dreaming and imagining together.

Holding the space so letting go feels safe and becomes possible CAVEMUSIC is a non-verbal potentia space to decompose oneself together in a space with others. A recurring theme in Bershan’s quest to rehearse connection and insist on our capacity to energetically and materially connect to one another and other-than-human-worlds, beyond the systems of power that thrive on our division and individuality.

Cavemusic has three simple rules:

1. be horizontal
2. be comfortable
3. be still

Cavemusic is a possibility to receive joint imaginations through abstracted Popscapes and make unexpected collective movements and readings possible, in a state of deep relaxation.
